People are just people.
We all want to be seen, heard and valued for who we are.
Hi, I'm Susan
I’ve worked across continents, cultures and contexts — from minefields to managing multi-million-dollar contracts to leading multicultural teams across multiple locations.
And what I’ve seen, over and over again, is this:
People are just people.
We all want to be seen, heard and valued - for who we are.
When we create space for people to bring their whole selves to work, it makes a difference.
This isn’t theory for me.
It’s lived experience.
From 20+ years in leadership — in accounting, operations and cross-sector work — to coaching, facilitation and consulting.
I’ve made difficult decisions, managed conflict, built teams and led change.
And I’ve supported others to do the same - in their own unique way.
What I do
My work now is voice-led.
This isn’t just talk. It’s about self-expression.
Helping people feel like themselves again — so they can lead from there.
We talk about performance as if it’s separate from people.
But how we feel at work — about ourselves, our contribution, our colleagues — all shapes what gets done and how.
Book
I wrote Leading Beyond the Numbers because I wanted to voice what so often goes unsaid.
This book is an invitation to notice what really drives results: emotional intelligence, relational strength and cultures that recognise and respect our shared humanity at work.
Podcast
I host Life Beyond the Numbers to speak with people about having a fulfilling work-life.
These conversations are real. People reflect on their own journeys and when someone voices what’s true for them, it often unlocks something in us too.
Speaking
Whether it’s on stage or in a small room, I speak to spark reflection.
To voice what’s often felt but not always said.
So you might see and hear perspectives beyond your own.
And I'm still learning, always
From everyone I meet - including the people I work with.
From asking better questions.
From books, podcasts, courses and more.
Because life isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about moving through uncertainty and staying curious about what matters most.
