Shine a Light

And find your path

Have you found you've gone astray?

I'm like a lighthouse that lights the way.

With the wind at your back,

And your face towards the shore,

Are you afraid to go where you haven't gone before?

Don’t listen to the waves roar.

You're not in too deep.

No need to weep.

Instead, listen to your heart sing.

It knows who you are.

It knows what you want.

It knows how to find your path.

It seeks the light,

Not mine,

But yours.

But knows that with my light you may find yours.

You need the darkness.

You need the flash.

To reveal what you need to see,

And hear what you’ve left unsaid.

My guiding light is there for you.

It won't see all of you,

but it shines a light for you,

so, you might,

shine bright,

and illuminate your own light.

With that you’ll find your way.

Your own path.

Your own shore.

And know how to go where you haven’t gone before.

Books, books, books. Where would we be without books? I know that my life is so much richer because of them. And I am deeply grateful to the people who bravely put their pen to paper and let us into their world. In honour of World Book Day 2023, and inspired by a newsletter from the lovely Antonia Taylor this morning, here are three recommendations of books I’ve recently read. They are practical books covering three topics close to my heart: numbers, writing and people.

What does your inner voice say? Earlier this year as I was out for a walk and these words began to come to mind in a way that felt like poetry. So, when I got home I started to write. The words seemed to come through me. And in no time at all, I had written a poem; my first poem.
Know Your Strengths
By Susan Ni Chriodain 30 Jul, 2021
How often do you reflect on your strengths? Do you know what your strengths are? Do you know what energises you? Do you know what you bring to the table? What you do doesn't get easier, you get better at doing it.
